Who We Are

SHPR is a consultancy that utilises significant industry experience, acquired from Large Fund Management Firms. Our professional colleagues from other disciplines likewise have high level experience, such as: Blue Chip Board Level Management, A Sovereign Wealth Fund, Senior Partners at Solicitors and Accountant firms, The Court of Protection and a Consultant Psychiatrist.

We keep our business small with respect to numbers but offer clients a depth of service that only decades of experience can bring.

Founded in 2021, our aim is to help clients improve their business, either in its entirety or some specific aspect.

We pride ourselves on providing advice and solutions that are forward facing and adaptive, rather than traditional and backward looking.

We make no apology for "Thinking Outside Of The Box".

Simon Brooks

Founder

In a career of over twenty five years, firstly as a trader in government bonds and then fund manager, Simon has managed proprietary and high value privately held portfolios, authorised investment funds, staff pension schemes and mandates for The Court of Protection.

Having worked within the investment industry for both traditional money managers as well as solicitors means Simon has a unique and wider viewpoint.

With this broad spread of previous employers and end client, Simon approaches all his engagements with two main aims: Know each client as well as possible and, to never forget that even if the end goal is the same, each client has their own relative view, so a solution acceptable to one may not be suitable for another.

Trained by a former fund manager who experienced the stock market crash in 1973/74, whose mentor in turn worked the 1929 crash, Simon benefitted from significant first hand experiences passed on, atop of his working through markets in 1987, 1999, 2008 and beyond.

Simon founded SHPR Consulting to share these decades of knowledge, with Money Managers, Professionals and Trustees, who wanted advice and an external viewpoint on some aspect of their investment matters.
